One-third of the course is to ensure students have sufficient skill in grammar and punctuation to write with clarity. In two-thirds of the course, students put principles of good writing into practice with short writing assignments that have real-world applications.
Course Goals
The purpose of this course is to ensure you have sufficient skill in grammar and punctuation to write with clarity. This is applied grammar and punctuation. You won’t have to define an intransitive verb, but you will need to understand how a comma can change the meaning of a sentence. You will put the principles of good writing into practice with writing assignments. Although the assignments are not media-specific, they are professionally oriented to help improve your writing skills.
